    Not one of the first places that you think of for a credit crunch meal however at £22 for three course from their Market Menu and a glass of Prosecco it is well worth the surprise. Delights such as Cured & smoked ham hock terrine with spiced coleslaw, parsley emulsion (oh posh!), Saffron & Parmesan arancini with mushroom ragout and herb salad,  Coconut and lime panacotta, mango carpaccio and coconut sorbet.  You certainly won’t scrimp on some taste here.  The Market Menu Pre Theatre deal is available from 5pm - 6pm everyday in Restaurant at Blythswood Square.

    The Shandon Belles at The Buttery 

    Hidden in one of the few remaining tenement blocks in Anderston are the inviting duo of Two Fat Ladies at The Buttery and Shandon Belles.  Downstairs from the equally amazing Two Fat Ladies at the buttery, part of the same group of restaurants as the Two Fat Ladies who have now expanded to Troon (At The Marine Hotel in Troon ). Prices range from £15 for two courses to £24 for three courses plus a half bottle of wine.   Menu teasers include homemade steak, sausage & ale pie, puff pastry lid, creamy mash and Rhubarb & strawberry trifle.  Upstairs have a lunch and pre theatre menu with two courses for £16.95 and three courses for £19.95.

    The Arches Café Bar and Restaurant

    The Arches? Don’t think of it that way, for food it’s well worth the rumble of the trains.  For £12.95 you can have three courses from their Market Menu  with treats such as ham hock and confit chicken terrine with tomato and whisky chutney. Also great burgers and chips too!

    The Gannet

    The Gannet well deserves the buzz around town.  Located in the hipper than hip Finnieston and at  £19 for a three course pre-theatre dinner you’d best get booking.  The menu includes Stornoway black pudding, Scotch duck egg and sauce gribiche (I think I need to look that one up ;) ).  The folks here love food and it comes across in their menu and taste.
